How to Apply for Certification and to take the Exam: In order to apply for nurses aide registration in Massachusetts, you will need to apply to take the exam with the application found here. If you have passed a 100-hour Nurse Aide training course before July 1, 1989, you will always be eligible to take the state certification test.If you have been employed as a nurse aide for more than two years, you can skip the training and apply to take the state certification test.Once you have been trained, you are always eligible to take the state certification exam. Note: In Massachusetts, your training never expires. It must be signed by your instructor, include the valid approval number, your name and the date that you passed the course. Provide a letter on the training program’s letterhead stating that you have passed their course.
